Kalliope is a cat of many talents. They are the reigning junior chess champion in the Woods and have numerous national championship wins in fencing. Their confidence is infectious, and they never fail to bring out the best in even the most insecure individuals.
 
But that confident smirk hides a ball of doubt - and not a fun yarn ball like her Gramma knits with, but a knotted, gnarled mess of a ball. Kalliope’s fraternal twin is known as the smartest person in the entire Candy Cap High School. Kalliope, however, has always struggled with their grades. Between an intensive fencing practice schedule as the captain of the team and their ADHD, Kalliope nearly had to stay behind a year due to failing multiple classes.
If it wasn’t for the support of their Gramma, who fought to get them academic accomedations, Kalliope might have had to give up fencing on account of their grades. But now, with daily tutoring at the Midnight Library and the support of their family, Kalliope is slowly raising their grades - just in time for nationals. We wish them luck - but we all know they won’t need it!
